Liverpool fans slam one player's error in PSG equalizer during Champions League tie
In a high-stakes Champions League last-16 clash at Anfield, Liverpool fans were not pleased with Ibrahima Konate's role in PSG's equalizer. Coming into the match with a 1-0 deficit from the first leg, the Reds needed a strong performance to overturn the result.

Harvey Elliott’s 87th-minute strike had given Liverpool a crucial advantage in Paris, with the hosts dominating the game. Alisson Becker played a key role, making a series of critical saves to keep his side in contention.
However, when PSG equalized early in the second half, Alisson had little chance to stop the goal. Ousmane Dembele initiated a fast counterattack and finished from close range. A cross from Bradley Barcola aimed at Dembele was intercepted by Konate, but his attempt to clear the ball was unsuccessful. The ball ricocheted to Dembele, who made no mistake in scoring.
Liverpool fans quickly expressed their frustration with Konate's role in the goal. One supporter quipped, "Konate with the best assist you'll see to Dembele." Another added, "Alisson had that covered," while a third questioned, "What was Konate doing there?" Fans also raised concerns about Virgil van Dijk’s positioning, feeling both defenders had allowed Dembele to break free and stay onside. "Konate has to cover the channel side," one fan pointed out, "I have no idea what position VVD is taking up."
Liverpool has not lost a Champions League match at Anfield since their 5-2 defeat to Real Madrid in 2023. Manager Arne Slot, meanwhile, has experienced only one home defeat in any competition, a 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest in September, which remains Liverpool’s only Premier League defeat this season.
