Liverpool should target Harry Kane in summer transfer window, says Ally McCoist

‎Liverpool should consider making an ambitious move for Bayern Munich's star striker, Harry Kane, in the upcoming summer transfer window, according to legendary Rangers and Scotland forward Ally McCoist.

‎Speaking on talkSPORT, McCoist encouraged Liverpool to test Bayern Munich's resolve and make a serious bid for the England captain. This recommendation follows recent rumors linking the Premier League leaders to a surprise move for Kane. With key players potentially leaving Anfield this summer, McCoist believes signing the prolific forward would significantly strengthen Liverpool's attack.
‎Liverpool are facing a challenging summer ahead. The club is bracing for the potential departure of Trent Alexander-Arnold, who is reportedly set to join Real Madrid on a free transfer. Meanwhile, Mo Salah and Virgil van Dijk are also in contract negotiations, with the possibility of both leaving the club for nothing if terms are not agreed. With uncertainty surrounding key figures, Liverpool could be in the market for a new striker, especially if Salah does not renew his contract. Additionally, Darwin Nunez's inconsistent performances this season could lead to further reinforcements in the forward line.
‎Harry Kane, who recently joined Bayern Munich from Tottenham Hotspur, has enjoyed a successful stint at the Allianz Arena. The England striker is on the verge of securing his first major trophy with Bayern, who currently hold a six-point lead at the top of the Bundesliga. Kane's impressive performances have made him a sought-after asset, and reports suggest that he has a release clause in his contract, which could pave the way for a potential return to the Premier League.
‎McCoist, who knows the Premier League well, is confident that Kane would be a prolific addition to Liverpool’s attacking options. “I think Harry Kane would score a phenomenal amount of goals for Liverpool,” McCoist stated. “He's not going to return to Arsenal, and Manchester City is unlikely due to Erling Haaland. If he were to come back to England, Liverpool seems the most plausible destination.”
‎When questioned about Kane potentially joining Manchester United, McCoist was skeptical, citing the club's current struggles. “I can’t see him coming to Manchester United right now, given the current state of the club,” McCoist remarked. “Harry Kane is unlikely to leave a team competing in the Champions League every season for a club that might not even make European competition.”
‎Looking ahead, Kane will be focused on extending Bayern Munich's lead in the Bundesliga when they host Augsburg on Friday. Furthermore, the England striker will be preparing for Bayern's Champions League quarter-final first leg against Inter Milan next week. Kane's recent performances have been crucial in Bayern’s campaign, notably scoring the decisive goal against Bayer Leverkusen to secure their place in the quarter-finals.
‎As Liverpool navigate an uncertain transfer market, the potential acquisition of Harry Kane could be a game-changing move to maintain their Premier League dominance.
